Sharm El Sheikh, also known as The City of Peace, is approximately 40 km2 and situated at the most southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula. The city has been built along the coastline of the Gulf of Aqaba with the picturesque backdrop of the Sinai Mountains on one side and glorious azure seas on the other.
Twenty years ago Sharm El Sheikh was a simple fishing village which first became a diving hotspot due to it’s all year round climate, warm crystal clear waters and an abundance of colourful coral reefs and marine life. It still offers water lovers the perfect conditions for both novice and experienced divers and snorkelers alike.
Sharm has grown over the years and is now a cosmopolitan hotspot; combining 5 star luxury hotels, dining in sophisticated restaurants with breathtaking views, elegant and stylish nightlife, shopping at designer boutiques and pampering in any one of the many luxury spas.
However, if glitz, glam and the sound of all inclusive 5 star holidays is not your scene, there is still plenty of local influence to be found. Many returning guests still choose to opt out of the package holiday or stay in 2/3 star hotels which pride themselves on providing local hospitality and charm.
Naama Bay has developed over the years into a thriving town that has an international reputation for the quality and range of its nightlife. There’s plenty to do here after the sun goes down and the list of places are growing still. Whether you want to sip a quiet cocktail under the stars or dance the night away listening to live music at one of the many bar and nightclub venues, you’ll be spoilt for choice here. Sharm is a 24 hour party people paradise. Be sure to check out our Events Calendar to make sure you don’t miss out on any special events. You can sleep when you get home!
The upcoming area of Nabq also boasts plenty of bars, restaurants, shopping and nightlife. The nearby 18 hole PGA golf course and the sophisticated mall area of Soho Square provide entertainment for all ages. There are so many things to do and see including ice-skating!
Local restaurants and handmade crafts can be found almost everywhere you go alongside the famous worldwide brands. For a taste of the local flavour the areas of Hadaba and the Old Town are favoured by Egyptian and ex-pat residents for the quieter bars and traditional cuisine.
Wherever you stay, whatever your reasons for choosing Sharm El Sheikh, the main attraction has to be the 24km of glorious sandy beaches, topaz coloured blue seas, year round sunshine and warm to hot, hot, hot climate plus the fact that the average rainfall is ZERO!!
